A really nice creaking wooden floor and talking people in a charming shop called “Flora” (floraflora.is) in Akureyri.
two drive-overs: one slow and you can hear the scratching noise of the Saabs breaks, the second another faster car. on road 85 right after Húsavík before crossing Skjálfandafljót.
Right before a really nice guesthouse Refsstaður II near Vopnafjörður. Visit Cathy and have really nice stay there. http://www.underthemountain.is
this Ristarhlið before Máná (on road 85) got a nice resonance frequency. the first drive-over is the old saab. recorded right before the Mánárbakki Museum, which we did not see. This sounds interesting: “Mánárbakki Museum. The folk museum at Mánárbakki is a unique museum of things from…” (taken from http://www.diamondcircle.is/manarbakki). It just stopps here!
nice gravel road, the old saab and a deep rumbling Ristarhlið Ristarhlið on road 85 before Þórshöfn
this is really nice one. lots of metal-rattle. right on the parking lot at Sundlaugin Selárdal.
after making it over the mountain pass, right before the small river Dalsa. again – the old Saab driving over the Ristarhlið
You can hear people building up the sound sculpture Tvísöngur by the German artist Lukas Kühne. (beautiful Seyðisfjörður, Iceland) Further links: http://skaftfell.is/2012/08/tvisongur-opnun/ http://konradkorabiewski.blog.com/2012/09/02/tvisongur-sound-sculpture-lukas-kuhne-opening/
A recording from inside an old oiltank. The tank (diameter about 1.5 meters) was right before the new sound/art/space SKÁLAR (Center For Sound Art and Experimental Music) in the old fish fabric in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. Thanks to Konrad Korabiewsk and all the lovley people in and around Skaftfell
